Question by cpsfmmfan7125: Can I recharge 2500mAh energizer rechargeable battery with a charger that came in a 2450mAh pack?
Hello! My old rechargeable battery charger stopped working for some reason, but the batteries still work, I recently bought a new Charger with 2450mAh batteries. Am I able to recharge the 2500mAh with the 2450mAh charger? I don’t want it to explode or anything, and I never really understood electricity.

Answer by What?
Some cameras can charge through the USB port, but the majority can’t. The make and model of your camera would really help better the answers you’ll receive.
Follow-up:
The Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS can’t charge through the USB port — you’ll need to purchase a Canon CB-2LV charger or a compatible charger for your Canon NB-4L proprietary lithium-ion battery.
You can purchase a Canon CB-2LV from various e-tailers:

Anything less than $ 40 is a generic charger. I wouldn’t recommend buying from sellers that aren’t featured on that page (Newegg, Buydig, and Dell are the only reputable sellers there). If you are comfortable with buying a cheaper generic charger (which I wouldn’t recommend) then you can find plenty on eBay.
You’ll have a hard time finding a store that stocks it if you want to buy one in person. Try visiting your local Radio Shack or photo equipment shop.

Question by Fezzler: How do I build a simple AA battery pack?
I want to put 4 AA NiCad or NimH batteries in a holder (Radio Shack 270-383) and connect two set of positive and negative leads. One to a DC Power Jack (Radio Shack 274-1565) for when the battery pack needs to be recharged and the other to a DC Power Plug (Radio Shack 274-1567) for when I want to use their power. Will this work?

Question by Timothy J L: Can I mix different milliamp hour batteries of the same size in a battery pack?
I am repairing a battery pack that likely has 1200mAh SubC NiCD batteries in it. Can I mix a 1200mAh and 2400mAh battery in the same pack wired in a series circuit?

NO
The lower capacity battery will go flat before the higher capacity battery. The higher capacity battery will then attempt to partially charge the lower capacity battery which will cause it to heat up. The charging of the lower capacity battery won’t be properly regulated and this could cause a fire.
