Question by slimy space witch: How to fix my laptop battery?
When I got my laptop the battery could go up to 2 or 3 hours wireless. Now it could only go to 30 minutes. Can you please tell me how to get it back up to 2 hours?

What has happened is that over time the Lithium-Ion cells have died, they cannot come back to life. It is time to buy a new battery. If you had purchased a extended warrenty, these sometimes cover a one time battery replacement depending on where you bought it.

My laptop battery isn’t holding a charge for more than 45 mins or so anymore. I was wondering what the advantages/disadvantages of a 12 cell vs a 6 cell.

It depends on what you use the laptop for, but if the cost isn’t that much different between the two, you’ll probably want the 12 cell battery.

* 12 cell battery will last MUCH longer than a 6 cell battery.
* 12 cell battery will be larger and heavier than the 6 cell battery.

So, if long battery life is most important for you, then you’ll want the 12 cell battery. If you don’t really require long periods of use on battery and prefer to keep your laptop smaller and lighter you’ll want the 6 cell battery.

Most people usually want the longest battery life they can find, so they’ll buy the bigger battery. But on occasion the ability to easily carry the laptop is more important, so they’ll buy the smaller one.

Think about which is most important to you and then you can make the right choice.

would a new laptop battery cause the laptop to be quicker?

i think this should be the case when the computor is running from the battery because a new battery will be able to output more then power then the old battery, so the processor will be able to work faster like it is when its plugged in

does anyone know if this is the case?

Question by M: Where can I buy a new laptop battery?
I have a Lenovo laptop. I’m not sure the exact model, but I’ve had it for about 3 or 4 years now. It works fine, but the battery life is very short (20 minutes or so, at the most) so I’m thinking I should look into getting a new battery for it.
Any ideas on where I can find new batteries for Lenovo laptops? We got the laptop itself from a computer networking place called ClickAway, but they are extremely overpriced, and always trying to sell you “the latest thing”. I’m not even sure if they carry laptop batteries.
Are they available somewhere like RadioShack, or Best Buy?
and also, how much would it cost?
